What is a library when ‘everywhere is here’? UPDATE- This thesis won the National Corobrik Architectural Thesis Award 2010. I have made the entire Thesis Document available for download here: www.activeingredient.org -UPDATE This architectural animation explores the question of the role of the public library when digital information is everywhere and is everything. What happens to the spaces of books? and how should traditional spaces of information change for a digital world? Even better… in the developing world, how could the library nurture an information society, when people don’t have access at home? Could the future of the library be an urban information bar? or a theatre of knowledge? and what does that really mean anyway? This animation is just an introduction to my architectural masters thesis called EVERYWHERE IS HERE: I will be blogging some random stuff at www.everywhereishere2009.blogspot.com Personal Website: www.activeingredient.org All comments and thoughts welcome!

    best blogging sites review

    Blogging-peer-reviewed research!

Bloggers reviewed for reporting research, or BPR3, was conceived by scientists and others who write informally about research on the Internet as an easy way to indicate that a blog post or website article is discussing revised experts at work. Its mission statement: "Bloggers Review of research reports strives to identify serious academic blog posts on peer-reviewed research by offering an icon and aggregation site where others can look to find the best academic blogging on the net. "
In addition to creating an icon for bloggers to refer to their posts when referring peer-reviewed research, the organization will host a central web site where fragments of these posts will be displayed, with links back to the original posts. For more resources visit www.atoz-about-rss.com. Readers can choose topics of interest and view only the messages, if they wish.
Finally, the intention is that bloggers may enter a DOI (digital object identifier) or other identifier unique, and automatically generate the code to send the icon, a link to the post on the page BPR3 and its aggregation tools, and generate an appointment with the format adequate research linking the original article.
Now, the first stage is complete – the icons have been created (with a lot of input using a large number of science bloggers.) They must be popular, as the site from which people can collect your code has been for a couple of days due to excessive traffic, probably. However, it is now up and visible, so if you want to pick an icon for your blog, or simply know more details of the project, please visit this page. From this post (October 29): "Anyone can use these icons to show when they are making a serious post peer-reviewed research, instead of linking to a newspaper article or press release. Within a month, these blogs also be added here so everyone can go to a place to locate the most serious analysis and commentary on the web. "
Inevitably, given the engagingly self-referential and gossip the nature of blogs, the liberation of these Icons attracted a lot of comments and discussion in the blogosphere. Dave Monger, the driving force behind BPR3, has collected links to all these items in a post here.
Perhaps part of such debates, this issue has been addressed already, but I'm afraid I have no time to read all 26 (so far) articles, I propose here. You can also access www.building-blog-empire.com. The icon I think is a great way to indicate that the subject of a blog entry is an article peer-reviewed research (Provided that a mechanism for reporting child abuse and remove the icon of the messages that use it incorrectly.) And BPR3 intentions in providing links to articles discussion of original research are admirable. However, those indicators do not think necessarily be an indicator of the quality of the blog post itself. In a blog, anyone can write anything about anything, whether or not the topic under discussion is reviewed by experts. A lot of traffic, or comment on a blog entry is not in itself an indicator of quality. (It may, in fact, the opposite.)
After the blog entries themselves are related to the article original research, it is possible for them to be formally cited, making them eligible for the aggregate database of citations. Blogs that enter the scientific mainstream debate in this regard would have a quality indicator related to the post itself instead of the research described. Is this the intention?

    blogging sites for teachers

    Prepare for the Blogging World

When I was starting with my very first blog, I was very excited! I had a "place" in the latter. I'm not the type who asks for help, so when I was the publication of the articles I literally do things by trial and error. I continued to complain to the dashboard and changing the templates. My blog did not go as I wanted it. So I looked for other sites that fit my needs.

Blogging sites often offer free service. There are pre-made templates that starters could use. There are also CSS and Javascript tutorials for those who know enough about technology computer. One advantage of blogging is that you learn as you try on different applications. Blogs now give more freedom to customize your site.

Apart from the photos, you can also upload your favorite videos and music. Like a painting, as the owner of the blog, check from time to time the characteristics of their work. If it seems pretty boring to your taste, add widgets. If it seems crowded, however, that settles the calendar, bulletin board, and video. Blogging makes the creator of his own world. Not only is it a bit techie. They also drink the artist vibe! With your blog, you become the master of his own kingdom.

We know how they inform school decisions. Our teachers prefer the main events in portions instead of putting them together in a paragraph. A more systematic creates the illusion that their texts are short and straight to the point.

Once you've finished reading the item at first, that had come to the next. The full article would be more orderly and easy to read since you've broken the important details. Do not make it hard for reader to scroll up and down just to scan the article for points that you forget to take note.

Furthermore, monitoring of people are constantly visiting your blog. Allow add comments to your site. Their reactions would be very good sources of ideas. Do everything you can to recognize their suggestions. A blog is supposed to bridge gap. Acting as a prima donna who loved the drive readers away. Talk to you too, through their comments. Communication is not

A picture is worth a thousand words. Or so they say. But it really is truth in that. Visually oriented people would choose to read blogs with pictures. These images help to understand exactly what you're trying to say. For example, an article on Italy would be more meaningful (and easy to read ") if want to put pictures of the hottest places, infrastructure, and people who live there.

If you are using your blog as a kind of memory or daily, then I think it would be best to break the barrier between you and the reader. Write as if you're talking to them! Keep the tone of his article to talk about. Of this way would make more welcome readers to your blog. However, it is necessary to check your choice of words. A blog environment must also be a good taste one. Whatever type of language you use makes an impact on you as a writer. It is a reflection of who you are. Do not get reported to make derogatory comments or write bad words. A blog is like a shirt. It also retains its image.
