In this video, I get a question from Brian who asks a multitude of questions! Brian wants to know: “1) Do you think there are people interested in hearing about what tech is the best bang for your buck(and/or tech noews and reviews from a college student’s viewpoint)? (yes, I know it’s very subjective, but I value your opinion) 2) What software are you using to publish those awesome videos and how did you setup your podcast and RSS feeds? (not just for the blogs but for podcasts too, and a flowchart-esque diagram would be sweet here) 3) Any tips on developing a personal brand? Tips on marketing yourself and getting started in the blogo/twitter-sphere? (I want to do this and share my information and knowledge with people) 4) Where’s that donate link on your site and how did you get it? (and send me a direct link, I feel like I owe you a few bucks for answering my questions)” Wow! What a list of questions. For 1, I believe there is a need for this type of thing on the internet. Low cost alternatives are becoming more popular in this tough economy. For 2, I use Ubercaster, please check out my podcast tutorial that I posted recently. For RSS, I use Feeder for Mac, but you can also use the built in RSS for blogging engines such as WordPress (through a plugin called Podpress) For video, I use Visualhub combined with Quicktime Pro 7. I’ve done videos on my techniques here on bwana.tv. For 3, be yourself, be consistent, and don’t give up :) I really don’t have a formula for

It is a TypePad blog service good? Equivalent Anything w / a fee?

Personally, as Live Journal. It was specifically designed for Blogger. It has gone through many changes. You have different plans and you can have icons. The buddy list is fairly simple. The feature I liked was the section Archive. I do a lot of Reseach where I have to call something I wrote days, weeks or months ago. So when I go to the calendar section, you can jump directly a day and use a link. I was lucky to get a Permanent Account on 6/7/2005, which is very rare. For a $ 150.00, you never have to pay again. This only occurs in a Blue Moon. Other than that, it can cope with a free account if you do not mind the ads. If you're willing to pay $ 2.00/month, you can get updated. I think it's $ 25/year. I have not looked lately and have not had to worry about. I stayed with Live Journal simply because there are a large number of users. I had established journals on other pages, but they either close or am familiar with the system. In addition, the Official Sites that are trying to stimulate business annoying promo send your e-mail. If you have a website of your account, you can use something like WordPress. If you have your own website or server account, you can install in place. The good thing about having to flee their site is that when you use the search function, which will restrict your search to the keywords in that blog you've created. WordPress has some nice templates and LiveJournal. If you are computer-savvy, LJ even allows you to configure your LiveJournal page to be compatible with a website, if you have it. You can also use the icons in the mood. I tried MySpace, but that's more than one GeneralSite to have a page. Them set up a blog section, but is more of an afterthought. In addition, the file system is very easy to use. For example, I have more than 2,200 entries blog on MySpace that runs parallel to LJ because I do a carbon copy of MySpace only allows you to go page by page to sift through entries as far as I know, which can be tedious. It all depends on what you use your blog to. If you are a serious blogger, I definitely want a good search engine for keywords, which makes easier to draw links to previous statements he has done. WordPress is really good for that if you have your own site. LJ is just as good, but you have to cheat a bit, but using keywords in the title and then to search the page for each calendar month with Ctrl-F. WordPress allows you to have subscribers to your site web. LJ will require you to create a community group. One thing I like about LJ is that it is very easy to block outsiders to comment on the page unless they are registered LiveJournal or only in your Friends List. Blogspot is pretty good. The only thing I do not care for though is that when compiling the publication Pag, which seems to hang there for a couple of seconds. That gave me cause for concern because when you start to have more than 1000-2000 entries, which makes you wonder how long it will take to process. I saw no file system. Xanga.com is a bit like MySpace. It seems that only a blog section where you can type things. One thing I've seen with LJ is that you can truncate putting them anywhere you want. So if you have a blog that is 10 pages, may be truncated using LJ-CUT. Another thing that has LJ seems that distinguish it from other blogs you can download software. You can download Semagic, a blog editor that can run out of your PC. There are several mirror sites which can be downloaded from. The good part is that if you have Dial-Up or simply to write directly from your computer, you can just like any Word editor. Then you just hit POST and automatically without entering Live Journal having to connect to Live Journal. Live Journal has also added a few new features with a section MyLJ fast. (LJ should pay me to be a sales representative LJ)
