North Pole

Precise definition
See also: Polar motion
Earth on its axis of rotation and therefore the position of Polo North was believed to be fixed (relative to the surface of the Earth) until, in the 18th century, the mathematician Leonhard Euler predicted that the axis might "wobble" a little. In the early 20th century astronomers noticed a small apparent "variation of latitude," as determined by a fixed point on Earth observation of stars. Some of this variation can be attributed to a wandering of the Pole on the Earth's surface by a series of a few meters. He has several components wandering periodic and an irregular component. The component with a period of about 435 days are identified with the eight months wandering predicted by Euler and is now called the Chandler wobble after its discoverer. The exact point of intersection of the axis of the Earth and the Earth's surface at a given moment, is called the instantaneous pole, but by the wobble "" This can not be used as a fixed definition of a North Pole (or South Pole) where the accuracy level meters is necessary.
It is desirable that the system Earth coordinates (latitude, longitude and elevation or orography) to fixed formations. Of course, due to plate tectonics and isostasy, there is a system in which all geographical features are fixed. However, the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems and the International Astronomical Union has defined a framework called the International Terrestrial Reference System.
Expeditions

Pre-1900
Already in the sixteenth century, many eminent people correctly believed that the North Pole was in a sea, which in the nineteenth century drew Polynia or Open Sea Polar. It was therefore expected that passage could be found through the ice floes in favorable times of the year. Several expeditions set out to find the way generally with whaling ships, already commonly used in cold northern latitudes.
One of the first expedition to the figure with the explicit intention of achieving the North Pole was that of a British naval officer William Edward Parry, who in 1827 arrived in 8245 north latitude. In 1871 the Polaris expedition, an American attempt Pole led by Charles Francis Hall, ended in disaster. An expedition led by U.S. 18791881 naval officer George Washington DeLong also ended tragically when his ship, the USS Jeannette was crushed by ice. More than half of the crew, including DeLong, were lost.
Nansen's ship Fram in the Arctic ice
In April 1895 the Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Fredrik Hjalmar Johansen struck out for the Pole on skis after leaving Fram blocked by the Nansen ice ship. The couple arrived in the latitude of the North before 8614 abandoned the attempt and went to the south, arriving at Franz Josef Land.
In 1897 Swedish engineer Salomon August Andre and two companions tried to reach the North Pole in the hydrogen balloon rnen ("Eagle"), but were stranded 300 km north of Kvitya, the northeastern part of the archipelago Svalbard, and perished on this lonely island. In 1930 the remains of the expedition were found by the Norwegian expedition Bratvaag.
The Italian explorer Luigi Amedeo, Duke of the Abruzzi and the captain of Italy's Umberto Cagni Royal Navy (Regia Marina) converted whaler sailed the Norwegian Polar Stella in 1899. On March 11, 1900 was Cagni a party on the ice and reached the latitude 86 34 on April 25, setting a new record beating Nansen result of 1895 by 35-40 miles. Cagni just managed to return to camp, where he remained until June 23. On 16 August the Stella Polare Rudolf left the island to the south and the expedition returned to Norway.
19001940
The American explorer Frederick Albert Cook claimed to have reached the North Pole on April 21, 1908 with two Inuit men, and Etukishook Ahwelah but was not able to produce convincing evidence and your claim is not widely accepted.
Peary sledge party "at the North Pole, 1909. From left to right: Ooqueah, Ootah, Henson, Egingwah, Seeglo.
The conquest of the North Pole was for many years in America accredited Navy engineer Robert Peary, who claimed to have reached the Pole on April 6, 1909, accompanied by American Matthew Henson and four Inuit men named Ootah, Seeglo, Egingwah and Ooqueah. However, Peary's claim remains controversial. The party that accompanied Peary at the final stage of the journey included no one who was trained in navigation and could independently confirm his own navigational work, which some claim to have been particularly sloppy as he approached the Pole.
The distances and speeds that Peary claimed to have achieved once the last support party turned sound incredible for many people, almost three times that he had achieved so far. Peary story of a journey to the Pole and back while traveling along the direct line of the only strategy that is consistent with the time constraints faced conflicts with Henson account tortuous detours to avoid pressure ridges and open leads.
British explorer Wally Herbert, initially a supporter of Peary, Peary records investigated in 1989 and concluded that they must have been forged and that Peary had not reached the Pole. Support for Peary came again in 2005, however, when the British explorer Tom Avery and four companions recreated the outside Peary's journey with replica wooden sleds and Canadian Eskimo Dog teams, reaching the North Pole by 36 days, 22 hours almost five hours faster than Peary. Avery writes on his Web website that "The admiration and respect I have for Robert Peary, Matthew Henson and four Inuit men who ventured North in 1909, has grown immensely since leaving Cape Columbia. Having now seen for myself how he traveled across the ice, I am more convinced than ever that Peary, indeed, discover the Pole North. "
The first flight over the Pole said was made on May 9, 1926 by U.S. naval officer Richard E. Byrd and pilot Floyd Bennett in a Fokker tri-motor. Although verified at the time of the U.S. Navy and a committee of the National Geographic Society, this claim has been disputed.
The first undisputed sighting Polo was the May 12, 1926 by Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and Lincoln Ellsworth American sponsor of the aircraft Norge. Norge, though Norwegian owned, was designed and piloted by the Italian Umberto Nobile. The flight started from Svalbard and crossed the ice of Alaska. Nobile, along with several scientists and crew of the Norge, flying Pole a second time on May 24, 1928 in the airship Italia. The Italia crashed on its return from the Pole, with the loss of half of the crew.
19402000
In May 1945 a Royal Air Force Lancaster of the Aries expedition became the first Commonwealth aircraft to fly over the geographic North and magnetic North Poles. The plane was piloted by David Cecil McKinley of the Royal Air Force. Carried a crew of 11 men, with Kenneth C. Maclure of the Royal Canadian Air Force by of all scientific observations. In 2006, Maclure was honored with a spot in the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame.
Discounting Peary disputed claim, the first men to set foot on the North Pole were, according to some sources, a party of the Soviet Union. These are described including Pavel Gordiyenko (or Geordiyenko) and three or five people, or Aleksandr Kuznetsov and 23 others who landed a plane (or planes) that the April 23, 1948. According Antarctica.org, three Li-2 aircraft landed, with a total of seven men.
On May 3, 1952, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Joseph O. Fletcher and Lieutenant William P. Benito, along with scientist Albert P. Crary, landed a modified C-47 Skytrain at the North Pole. Some sources consider this (instead of the Soviet mission) to be the first landing at the Pole.
USS Skate at the North Pole, 1959
The United States Navy submarine USS Nautilus (SSN-571) crossed the North Pole on August 3, 1958 and March 17, 1959, the USS Skate (SSN-578) appeared at the Pole, becoming the first naval vessel to do so.
Leaving aside Peary claim, the first conquest of the North Pole area confirmed was that of Ralph Plaisted, Walt Pederson, Gerry and Pitzl Jean Luc Bombardier, who traveled on the ice by snowmobile and arrived on April 19, 1968. The U.S. Air Force confirmed position independently.
On April 6, 1969, Wally Herbert and companions Allan Gill, Roy Koerner and Kenneth Hedges of the British Trans-Arctic Expedition was became the first man to reach the North Pole on foot (even with the assistance dog teams and air drops). They continued to complete the first crossing of the ocean surface Arctic and its major axis, Barrow, Alaska to Svalbard a feat that has never been repeated. Due to suggestions from Plaisted use air transport, some sources classified as Herbert's first expedition confirmed to reach the North Pole on the ice surface, by any means.
Memorial in honor of the Arktika icebreaker conquest of the Pole North in 1977 in the hall of the museum of regional studies of the Murmansk region
On August 17, 1977, the Soviet nuclear-powered icebreaker Arktika completed the voyage of the vessel surface for the first time the North Pole.
In 1982 Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Charles Burton became the first to cross the Arctic Ocean in one season. They departed from Cape Crozier, Ellesmere Island, on February 17, 1982 and reached the North Pole on April 10, 1982. They traveled on foot and by snowmobile. From the Polo, who traveled to south to Svalbard, but due to the unstable nature of the ice, ending their journey from the ice edge after drifting south on an ice floe during 99 days. They were finally able to walk to their expedition ship "MV Benjamin Bowring 'and addressed the August 4, 1982 in position 80:31 N W. twelve and fifty-nine as a result of this trip, which formed a section of the three years Transglobe Expedition 19791982, Fiennes and Burton became the first to complete a circumnavigation of the world through both North and South Poles by surface travel alone. This achievement remains unchallenged to date.
On September 7 1991, the German research vessel RV Polarstern and the Swedish icebreaker Oden reached the North Pole as the first conventional vessels fed .. Both sides scientific and crew oceanographic and geological samples and had a common tug of war and a football game on an ice floe. Polarstern again reach the Pole just 10 years later with the USCGC Healy.
Century 21
USS Charlotte at the North Pole in 2005
In recent years, travel North Pole by air (helicopter or landing on a runway prepared on ice) or breaking the ice have become relatively routine, and are even available small groups of tourists through adventure holiday companies.
In 2005, the United States Navy submarine USS Charlotte (SSN-766) grew by 155 cm (61 inches) of ice at the North Pole and spent 18 hours there.
In April 2007, Dutch artist Guido van der Werve performance produced a work of art in the Polo North. By standing exactly on the pole for 24 hours and turning slowly clockwise (the earth is rotating clockwise), just follow your own shadow, Van der Werve literally was not presented to the world for a day. This performance is called: 'nummer Negen [Dutch for Number Nine], the day did not show with the world. "Van der Werve time 24 hours and 9 minutes.
In July 2007, British endurance swimmer Lewis Gordon Pugh completed a 1 km swim at the North Pole. His feat, undertaken to highlight the effects of climate change, was carried out in the clear water that had opened between the ice floes. His subsequent attempt to paddle a kayak to the North Pole in late 2008, following the erroneous prediction of clear water to the Pole, was hampered when his expedition was caught in ice thickness after only three days. The expedition was abandoned.
A 2007 episode of BBC motoring program Top Gear, the presenters were described as traveling to the North Pole, "was actually a 1996 expedition to the position of the Magnetic North Pole.
2007 descent to North Pole funds marine

On August 2, 2007, a Russian VASU clarification [edit] made the first manned descent to the bottom of the ocean in North Polo, at a depth of 4.3 km, as part of a research program in support of 2001 Russian territorial claim to a large swath of the Arctic Ocean. The decrease took place in two MIR submersibles and was directed by Soviet and Russian polar explorer Arthur Chilingarov. In a symbolic act, the Russian flag was planted on the seabed at the position Polo accurate.
The expedition is the latest in a series of decades of moves by Russia to demonstrate that the dominant influence in the Arctic. Warming Arctic climate and summer retreat of sea ice has suddenly become the attention of countries from China to the United States to the top of the world, where resources and shipping routes may soon be exploited.
Day and night
See also midnight sun and polar night
At the North Pole, the sun is permanently above the horizon during the summer months and permanently below the horizon during the winter months. Sunrise is just before the vernal equinox (around March 19), the sun takes three months to reach its highest point of elevation of about 23 in the summer solstice (around June 21), after which begins to sink, reaching the sunset just after the autumnal equinox (around September 24). When the sun is visible in the polar sky, appears to move in a clockwise circle above the horizon. This circle is gradually raised from near the horizon just after the spring equinox to its maximum elevation (Degrees) above the horizon at the summer solstice and then sinks back toward the horizon before sinking below it in the autumn equinox.
A period of twilight calendar about two weeks occurs before sunrise and after sunset, a period of nautical twilight of about five weeks occurs before sunrise and after sunset and astronomical twilight period of about seven weeks occurs before sunrise and after sunset.
These effects are caused by a combination of tilt of Earth's axis and its revolution around the sun. The direction of the tilt of Earth's axis and its angle the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun, is almost constant over a year (both change very slowly over long periods of time.) Mid the northern summer the North Pole is facing the sun to its maximum extent. As the year progresses and the Earth moves around the sun, the North Pole becomes gradually away from the sun until the middle of winter facing away from the Sun to its maximum extent. A similar sequence is observed at the South Pole, with a time of six months difference.
Time
In most places on Earth, local time is determined by length, so the time of day is more or less synchronized with position of the sun in the sky (for example, at noon the sun is more or less at its highest level). This line of reasoning fails at the North Pole, where the sun rises and sets only once a year, and all lines of longitude, and therefore all time zones converge. There are no permanent human presence in the North Pole and no particular time zone has been assigned. polar expeditions can use any time zone that is convenient, as GMT, or time zone of the country they left.
Climate
Arctic contractions of 2007 compared to 2005 and also compared with the average of 1979-2000.
The North Pole is much warmer than the South Pole because it is at sea level in the middle of an ocean (which acts as a reservoir of heat), and not the altitude in a continental land mass.
Winter (January) temperatures at North Pole can range from about 43 C (45 F) to 26 C (15 F), perhaps with an average of 34 C (30 F). Summer temperatures (June, July and August) average around the freezing point (0 C, 32 F).
Sea ice at the North Pole is typically around two or three meters thick, although there is considerable variation and occasionally the movement of floes exposes clear water. Studies have shown that the average ice thickness has decreased in recent years. Many attribute this decline to global warming although this conclusion is disputed by some. Reports have also predicted that within a few decades the Arctic Ocean will be completely free of ice in the summer months. This may have important commercial implications, see "Territorial Claims," below.
Flora and fauna
The Polar bears are thought to rarely travel beyond about 82 North due to food shortages, although the tracks have been seen near the North Pole, and an expedition 2006 reported sighting of a polar bear just one mile (1.6 km) from the Pole. The ringed seal has also been at the Pole, and Arctic foxes have been observed less than 60 km, at 8940 N.
Birds seen at or very near the Pole include the Snow Bunting, Northern Fulmar and Black-legged Kittiwake, though some sightings of birds may be distorted by the tendency of birds to follow ships and expeditions.
The fish have been seen in the waters of the North Pole, but these are probably few in number. A member of the Russian team that descended to the seabed at the North Pole in August 2007 said they had seen any sea creatures that live there. However, more later reported that a sea anemone had been picked up from the mud of the seabed by the Russian team and video recordings of the dive showed no shrimp identify and amphipods.
Territorial claims that the North Pole and Arctic regions
Main article: Territorial claims in the Arctic
By international law, no country currently owns the North Pole or the Arctic Ocean region surrounding it. The five countries surrounding the Arctic Russia, Canada, Norway, Denmark (via Greenland), and the United States (via Alaska), are limited to 200 nautical miles (370 km, 230 miles) exclusive economic zone around their coasts, and the area beyond that is administered by the International Seabed Authority Marine.
Upon ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, a country has a period of ten years to make claims to extend its zone of 200 miles. Norway (ratified the Convention in 1996), Russia (ratified in 1997), Canada (ratified in 2003) and Denmark (ratified in 2004) have launched projects based on claims some sectors of the Arctic are the property of their territories.
Cultural Associations
In some Western cultures, the geographic North Pole is the residence of Santa Claus. Canada Post has assigned postal code H0H 0H0 to the North Pole (in reference to Santa Claus traditional exclamation of "Ho-ho-ho!").
This association reflects an ancient esoteric mythology of Hyperborea which postulates the North Pole, another world-axis, as the abode of God and superhuman beings (see Joscelyn Godwin, Arktos: The Polar Myth). The popular figure of the pole-dwelling Santa Claus therefore functions as an esoteric spiritual archetype of purity and transcendence (). As Henry Corbin has documented, the North Pole plays a key role in the cultural worldview of esoteric Sufism and Iranian mysticism. "The Orient sought by the mystic, East that can not be found on our maps, is in the direction of north, beyond the north. "The Pole is also identified with a mysterious mountain Arctic Ocean, called Mount Qaf (cf. RUPES Nigra), whose ascent, like Dante's climbing of the mountain of Purgatory represents the pilgrim's progress through spiritual states. The Iranian theosophy, the celestial pole, the focal point of spiritual ascension, acts as a magnet to pull their beings "resplendent palaces with immaterial matter. "
Fantasy flights often refer to a flight to the North Pole for the same reasons.

Christians, how I can do this?

I want to raise money for charity by starting a blog about life online and then collect from Chrisitan people 5 cents per page to read it … My goal is to get 10 000 – 50 000 purchases a week if that happens, I will work from 2000-10 $ 000 a month … Where I was going to advertise this blog? How do I make sure that people continue to pay for this blog? How I can to make sure nobody copies my idea? How I can make sure that my blog is aesthetically pleasing?

I am an atheist, but I would like to congratulate you for being a sincere Christian. It's so rare for someone to want to admit getting money out of religion.
